The City has sent notification that they will begin removing 847 trees soon. Ignoring our requests for meetings and ignoring the fact that it is a flawed plan proven by science. They knew this a year ago.
We recently learned that a primary reason for removing these trees is so that they can relocate 2 combined sewer overflows! They plan on continuing to pour raw sewage into Black Creek – Humber River – Lake Ontario – Toronto’s Waterfront. This is what the City does where to tourists do not go. Toronto may be a world class city downtown but nowhere else.
Join us tomorrow for this beautiful ceremony for the trees that will be cut down.

June 10, 2023 10 am – 12 pm we are sponsoring a special community tree planting event with the City of Toronto at Raymore Park. Please join us as we honour the lives lost to Hurricane Hazel by planting trees and shrubs where their homes once stood. Anishinaabe Grandmother Vivian Recollet will conduct a ceremony.
